Nuestro episodio de 4 de diciembre (no 23) se trata de El Día de la Acción de Gracias. Vamos a publicar varios posts acerca de este tema.
Episode 23 is about the celebration of the Thanksgiving Holiday in the United States. One of the things that Americans traditionally do in the afternoon and evening of Thanksgiving is watch football (el fútbol americano) on television. There are two types that are very popular in the United States: college/university football (el fútbol americano universitario) and professional football (el fútbol americano profesional). The National Football League (NFL) is the organization over professional football (“pro football”). There are only 32 professional football teams in the United States. The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is the organization over college football. There are over 130 college football teams, divided into many different "conferences." The best college football players try out for the NFL (probar para el NFL). Each spring, the NFL has a “draft” where professional teams pick from the best 259 college players and recruit the players for their teams (reclutan a los jugadores para sus equipos). The NFL draft is very exciting (emocionante) for the college players because college football players do not earn any money to play, but professional football players earn a great deal of money.
Gabo likes professional football more than college football, and is a fan of the Tennessee Titans. Goyo prefers college football and likes the Georgia Bulldogs.
